Here are some answers to HD Publishing Group (HDPG) affiliate’s Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).

Q. Where can I get any support that I may need?
A. We have an in-house, experienced Affiliate Marketing Department (Affiliate Manager – Jan Lemkow or Affiliate Assistant – James Pruitt) and you can reach them by email to help you with your questions.

Q. Do I have to provide customer support for HDPG services?
A. No. We have teamed up with Customer Care Dot Com, Inc, a leading online support company comprised of top-notch customer care professionals. They are available seven days a week to provide customers with insight on all HDPG services. Once a sale is made, we take care of everything.

Q. What commission is offered for National Alert Registry?
A. Earn $9 per customer (This is 90% of the total initial cost).

Searches are free after purchase, and this service is extremely viral. Already over 6 million people have searched their neighborhood.

Q. Can I change my account information or password after I sign up?
A. Yes. After you log in with your unique username/affiliate ID you will be able to edit your profile by clicking on “Resources”, then “My Profile”. You can change all information EXCEPT your username/affiliate ID and the signup date.

Q. Does my website qualify for the HDPG Affiliate Program?
A. Most web sites will qualify to participate in the program; however, we may reject web sites that we determine unsuitable. Examples of sites that would not qualify for participation include:

• Sites that promote sexually explicit material
• Sites that promote violence
• Sites that promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, national origin, physical disability, sexual orientation, or age
• Sites that promote illegal activities
• Sites that violate intellectual property rights.

Q. What forms of advertising can I use to promote HDPG?
A. Affiliates are welcome to promote their websites, but naturally, any promotion that mentions HDPG services could be perceived by the public or the press as a joint effort. Therefore, any use of our name in such promotions must be pre-approved by HDPG. This includes advertisements, press releases and mailings.

Q. What kinds of advertising are prohibited by HDPG?
A. Certain forms of indiscriminate advertising, commonly referred to as “spamming” are unacceptable as they could cause damage to our brand name. Prohibited forms of advertising include the use of unsolicited commercial e-mail (UCE), postings to non-commercial newsgroups and cross-posting to multiple newsgroups at once. In addition, affiliates may not advertise in any way that effectively conceals or misrepresents their identity, their domain name or their return e-mail address. Mailings are acceptable only if the recipient is already a customer or subscriber to the affiliate’s services. In addition, recipients must have the option of removing themselves from future mailings. (See CANN-SPAM act of 2003) Newsgroup postings are acceptable only in newsgroups that specifically welcome commercial messages. When in doubt, consult the newsgroup FAQ section or ask the moderators to be sure your message is acceptable in that newsgroup. Affiliates must also clearly represent themselves and their websites as independent entities from HDPG. In any forum or media, affiliates are expected to honor the advertising practices and restrictions that are commonly considered acceptable by its audience. Failure to honor this code of conduct can result in immediate termination of an affiliate’s account, and loss of all commissions earned.

Q. What is Net Detective Plus?
A.Net Detective Plus is a subscription model upgrade program to Net Detective which will give your customers the opportunity to access 4 additional databases. When they choose to upgrade, they are given a 3-day trial for $9.95. (non-commissionable) If they do not cancel within the 3 day trial period, on the 4th day they are billed $29.95 (also, non-commissionable to affiliates) each month until they cancel their subscription.

Q. How much do I earn when my customer upgrades their Net Detective program to Net Detective Plus?
A.The initial $9.95 3-day trial, is non-commissionable to the affiliate. The $29.95 monthly subscription fee to the customer is also non-commissionable.

Q. Do you have cookies?
A. Last referrer cookies are set at 120 days. The affiliate who converts the sale, receives the commission.

Q. Do you offer bonus incentives on high-volume sales?
A.Yes! You can earn additional commissions based on your volume.  Please email Jan Lemkow, our Affiliate Manager for further details.

Q. What’s my linking code?
A.Your linking code can be obtained by logging into your affiliate account with your username and password and clicking on “Resources”, then on “Links”.

Q. How will I know how much I have earned?
A. We provide 24-hour, real time stats on all affiliate accounts. Log into your affiliate account using your username/affiliate ID and password. Your account opens showing the statistics for the current month. Here, you can track the number of clicks (sales page visits and order page visits), sales, and commission for the current month. Use this information to evaluate your performance with our program and adjust your marketing efforts accordingly.

If it’s the beginning of the new month and you want to see last month’s numbers, click on Show Date Range Options on the right-hand side, change the date to the month/year you’d like to see and click on Apply Filter.

Q. What’s the minimum payout?
A. The HDPG minimum payout (threshold that must be met before a check is cut) is $25.00.

Q. How do I know when a sale has been made?
A. You will see sales reflected in your stats and you can choose to receive an e-mail confirmation of each sale when you sign up.

Q. When will I get paid?
A. HDPG sends Affiliate Commission checks out each month. We are very dependable in this respect and generally send out the checks on or before the seventh of each month. In addition, affiliates may opt to receive their payments via ACH (direct deposit) by logging into your affiliate account and updating their profile by adding their banking account information to the secure form located on that page. For International affiliates – wire transfers can be set up providing the volume is acceptable.

Q. How am I guaranteed payment for sales from my site?
A. You are assigned a unique Affiliate ID (also your username). Orders from your personal web page use the special format that includes this code. Every time a customer follows the link from your page to the HDPG sales page and makes a sale, this unique code tells us that your affiliate account generated this transaction and you will get credit for the sale.

Q. Where can I find the banners that HDPG offers to webmasters for promotion?
A. Once inside our Affiliate Zone, you will find all the marketing resources you’ll need to get started. Log into your affiliate account, click on “Resources” and then on “Banners”.

Q. Can I change or personalize the banners and images provided by HDPG?
A. Each of the images we’ve created for you is intended to represent our brand name and logo in a consistent fashion. We strongly encourage you to use the images as presented. If you feel that you must build something larger or more unified with your web site’s overall design, you must submit all proposed graphics for our approval prior to displaying them online or in print.

Q. How should I design my website?
A. Every Affiliate site is unique. We do however offer a standard page template for each service which you can download to your computer by clicking on the “Site Creation Tool” link in the Resources section of your affiliate page. In most cases, affiliates will have a pre-existing website in place when they join the program. You will be most successful if you make your recommendations or links to HDPG look and feel like the rest of your site. Of course, if you don’t yet have a website, your options are endless. We simply encourage you to give the site its own unique personality and keep your target audience in mind while you create.
